FedEx St. Jude Classic Podcast, Draftkings Picks, and Bets

Listen to this week’s podcast for a more in depth view on the FedEx St. Jude Classic. Axis shares his top picks for Draftkings as well as who he is looking to toss some cash on!

Course: TPC Southwind
Par 70, 7,244 yards
Bentgrass Greens

A week before the US Open the tour makes its stop in Memphis, TN for the FedEx St. Jude Classic. As usual, the field will be weak although the top appears to be slightly heavier than I can recall in recent years (DJ has taken it off this year).

The course itself is known to play relatively hard compared to many other stops on tour and one can expect numerous balls to take a swim. So the US Open may be the main reason many golfers skip this event, the difficulty of the course could add to it. The greens are small and hard to it, so we will find GIR+ in our key stats this week (as we do most weeks). For those who are new here, GIR+ combines GIR and saves for par or better.

Key Stats:

SG: Tee to Green
SG: Approach
Par 4 Scoring
Birdie or Better %/Bogey Avoidance
GIR

Key Draftkings Targets (listen to podcast for more in-depth analysis)

Francesco Molinari 10.5k
Russell Henley 9.8k
Kyle Stanley 8.4k
Ian Poulter 7.6k
JT Poston 6.7k

Going with a tighter player pool this week with such a weak field.

Outright Bets:

Kyle Stanley 40/1
Kevin Tway 50/1
Harold Varner III 66/1
Smylie Kaufman 80/1

The Memorial Tournament $100 recap:

My boy Tway was the only one who let me down this week, even failing to really rack up many points in his effort. I did however successfully dodge the Rahm/DJ bomb, which really helped me finish in 17th place despite a 5/6. My true hero was Kyle Stanley though, coming through at only 5% owned. As I thought, many were burned by him big time last week and afraid to play him despite how well he lined up for the course. It appears this will be another good week to roster him as well!
