Pebble Beach DFS GPP Targets
Pebble Beach National Pro-Am Courses
Course: Pebble Beach GL
Course: Spyglass Hill GC
Course: Monterey Peninsula CC
3 ROUND CUT – TAKE SOME CHANCES
Stroke Gained: Tee to Green
Par 5 Scoring
Birdie or Better
It wouldn’t hurt to target a couple different horses on this course, specifically those who have played well here in the past. There are a lot of repeat winners at this tournament.
Personally, I will be making lineups with Spieth, Dustin Johnson, and limited Justin Rose. Below are four of my favorite golfers to mix and match with those big dogs this week that I will be using across my GPP LUs.
Jimmy Walker – 10.7k
First thing you’ll noticed about Walker is his track record at this event. He won it two years ago and has four top 10’s in his last five trips (finished 21st last year). His stats from this season and last season correlate extremely well to this course, as well as other factors. The combination of courses are all short and Walker has a 1.3 strokes-gained compared to normal on shorter courses. Get him in some of your lineups!
David Lingmerth – 8.3k
I feel that Lingmerth quietly goes about his game and slides in under the radar. He hasn’t had a high finish at this course in two attempts but he’s been playing solid golf and his games fits. He typically plays better in California as well as on courses that have giant fairways. He’s not long off the tee but still manages to play Par 5s quite well and has an upper tier birdie or better %.
Bryce Molder – 7.7k
He’s had success at this event in the past and finished 6th last week. His stats are lacking a bit more than you’d like to see when correlated to past winners but he has some other nice variables going for him. His game improves on courses that are short and have large fairways (ding, ding!) as well as being a better putter on Poa greens.
Sean O’Hair – 7.1k
I love O’Hair this week for his price tag. You’re guaranteed to get at least three rounds which gives him great upside. He’s top 30 in DD and P5s this season, and 56th in BoB%. He’s another golfer than always seems to play better in California and his putting too, is improved on Poa greens. He’s made eight straight cuts at Pebble Beach, with a couple top 15 finishes. He’s a good filler for GPPs to allow for extra cap room at the top.
