NBA Cash Core, January 31st
EDIT – No Larry Nance Jr. tonight so Randle deserves a long look, and no Warren for PHX so Tucker becomes a viable value/punt play tonight.
Draymond Green – PF – 8.8k
It wasn’t long ago Mr. Green was near being 10.0k but it’s extremely hard to keep up with a triple double every night. His salary has regressed but his abilities are still there. He’s not an elite scorer so it’s hard for him to keep up with a 9.8k salary but he fill up the stat sheet enough where he doesn’t have to score to pay off 8.8k. He needs to hit mid-30’s to pay this off and against the Knicks I’m expecting closer to 40.
Paul Millsap – PF – 8.4k
He’s listed as probable so there is still a chance he won’t play after hurting his ankle last game. I’m counting on him playing and I love him tonight at only 8.4k. Miami gives up 1.5 more points than expected to PFs and before the injury Paul had scored 38+ FP in five straight games. He’s an elite talent with a consistent game and that’s hard to find at this price point.
Tobias Harris – SF – 5.7k
Harris has gone over his expected point total in seven of his last nine games and I have him projected to do so again tonight. His usage is about 20% and I think he should see close to 30 minutes tonight against a Celtics team that gives up 1 more point that expected to opposing SFs. Harris can score but also fills up the stat sheet in multiple categories which is important in fantasy sports. Even if he can’t find the basket he can add to your total.
Spencer Hawes – C – 4.0k
Hawes isn’t likely to score you 40 points but he is a pretty safe bet to pay off his low salary tonight against the Lakers. LA struggles against most bigs, and particularly Cs, a position they give up 2.1 more points than expected to. Hawes doesn’t have a big usage in the offense but he should see between 25-30 minutes tonight which should be more than enough time to pay off his salary and allow you to spend up at other positions.
