NBA DFS Picks, 1-12-15
I started promoting Fantasy Labs recently (on my own accord) and will continue to do so because I think it’s a very beneficial site for DFS players who don’t have a lot of time each day to research. They have all of the key stats in one easy to read place and you can even create your own models (I use this feature and love it)! If you’re going to pay for a service you won’t be able to find many better than Fantasy Labs. I wouldn’t recommend anything I didn’t believe in. I use their site to do the base of my research and create my own models and I believe it can help you too. If you’re interested, click the banner at the top of this article and enjoy!
NBA Cash Core, January 12th
Article up early, so no recent injury news is known. As always, pay attention to injury news and check for roster updates.
Jimmy Butler – SG – 8.7k
For the type of production Butler is giving you, the typical cost would be mid 9k. In fact, James Harden (also SG) cost 10k, and go look at his recent production. Yes, Harden has a ceiling in the 60’s but Butler can get into the mid 50’s when he’s on. He’s exceeded expectations in six (potentially 7) straight games and has a positive matchup against Milwaukee. Butler plays about 38 minutes per night and although the Bulls offense does share, his usage is about 25% and a couple games ago he dropped 49 FP on the Bucks. I’ll be on Jimmy as he continues to be underpriced for his production.
Tyreke Evans – PG – 7.8k
Tyreke was a thorn in my side when he first came back from injury but his game has been on the rise and he’s consistently producing now. He’s exceeded expectations in six straight and now he gets to face the Lakers (+1.7 to opposing PGs). He’s score 30+ in 8 of 9, including four games over 40 FPs. The Lakers continue to be a mess on defense (and in general) and Evans should be able to take advantage, and who knows – Davis may get hurt like usual and Evans will have even more usage.
Brandon Knight – PG – 6.8k
I’ve been playing Knight quite a bit since Bledsoe went down for the season and his price is still sitting at 6.8k so I’ll continue to roll him out. He’s exceeded expectations in four straight and he will have a positive match up against the Pacers. He’s gone 30+ FP in 9 of 12 and hasn’t had many real “duds” in that span (but a low of 15). He plays well of 30 minutes most nights and I project him to break 30 FP once again.
Robin Lopez – C – 4.9k
Lopez has exceeded value in nine straight games by an average of 9 FP/gm. That’s an insanely good streak of basketball. His minutes are up (30+/gm) and he’s coming into a match up against the Celtics, a team that gives up +1.7 points more than expected to opposing centers. He should continue to get minutes and his offense is coming around with each game. Lopez is a pretty safe play and allows you to spend up elsewhere (like PG).
