I started promoting Fantasy Labs recently (on my own accord) and will continue to do so because I think it’s a very beneficial site for DFS players who don’t have a lot of time each day to research. They have all of the key stats in one easy to read place and you can even create your own models (I use this feature and love it)! If you’re going to pay for a service you won’t be able to find many better than Fantasy Labs. I wouldn’t recommend anything I didn’t believe in. I use their site to do the base of my research and create my own models and I believe it can help you too. If you’re interested, click the banner at the top of this article and enjoy!
NBA Cash Core, January 10th
Early write up so I’m not 100% aware of any big injury news so be sure to keep an eye on that as always with the NBA.
EDIT – Looks like Bayless AND Mayo are out. You would be wise to try and fit MCW in as your PG #2.
Russell Westbrook – PG – 10.6k
He’s super expensive but he’s a lock for me today. Lillard is a notoriously bad defender (+2.6 more points than expected) that Westbrook can and will exploit. He only played 27 minutes in their fist meeting but last season in four games he averaged 38.5 actual points per game (No KD). If the game is close he will have somewhere between 35-40 minutes and his usage continues to be a sky-high 35%. This game has a nice O/U (212) and Russell will take advantage.
Kristaps Porzingis – PF – 6.2k
Sometimes it’s tough listing Porzingis as a cash game play but with his price being so low he can be safely used. He does seem to be hit or miss, getting you either 22 or 40 fantasy points but that’s the bonus of him being so cheap. He has a solid matchup today against Milwaukee, who gives up 1.9 more points than expected to PFs and Kris has averaged almost 1 FP/minute against Milwaukee this season. I expect him to get close to 30 minutes tonight and he has a typical usage of 22%. He should be able to fill up the stat sheet and approach 30 FPs.
Cody Zeller – PF – 4.9k
If you want the studs you will have to spend down elsewhere and Zeller is an excellent option tonight. He’s been killing it lately, exceeding expectations in eight of his last nine (by 8 pts/gm) and he has a great match up tonight. The Nuggets give up +3 points more than expected to opposing PFs and the game has a decent O/U of 201. Zeller should get 28-33 minutes tonight and although his usage is only 15%, he doesn’t have many “dud” games and often exceeds value by a larger margin.
Tony Allen – SG – 4.0k
This pick comes down to Tony being underpriced for the minutes he plays with the current injury situation at Memphis. It is doubtful that Lee and Conley play tonight, with Lee being the one that affects Allen’s minutes the most. He’s not always the most efficient with his minutes but you can’t pass up a SG at 4.0k who will see close to 35 minutes. He’s exceeded expectations in each game he’s play 30+ minutes and I think he will do the same tonight if Lee does indeed miss the game.
