NHL DFS Picks, 1-4-16
NHL Cash Core, January 4th
Hope everybody had an enjoyable holiday. I took some time off but should be back on a regular schedule with articles for a bit, so let’s dive back in.
Alexander Steen – LW – 7.8k
L10 Games – 9 Points (3G/6A)
Steen continues to play on the Blues top line and top PP Unit as a point man. He’s been contributing on a regular basis all season and recently and has a solid match up against Ottawa. The Senators have given up the 3rd most goals in the NHL this season (118) and although the Blues offense has not been great they should be able to take advantage and Steen is second on the team in points. I like his upside for his price/matchup.
Henrik Sedin – C – 6.5k
L10 Games – 7 Points (1G/6A)
Henrik has been pretty consistent all season (34 points/37 games) and always has multi-point potential playing on the top scoring line and top PP Unit. The Canucks have some major offensive issues but the Coyotes have given up 3.2 goals/gm (30th in the league). If the Canucks are scoring, there’s a solid chance Sedin will be a part of it. He’s been in on 36% of all Canuck goals this season so I like his chances of picking up a point in this match up.
Tyler Toffoli – RW – 5.8k
L10 Games – 10 Points (7G/3A)
Toffoli was on a tear to start the season and he hit a cold streak and now he’s burning up again. He continues to play on the Kings top line and top PP unit and he’s dumping pucks in left and right. 7 goals, including a hattrick over his L10 and the Kings have a solid matchup against Colorado (23rd in GA/Gm). Hard to get a top line goal scorer at this cheap of a price and in a plus matchup.
Kyle Palmieri – RW – 5.0k
L10 Games – 7 Points (4G/3A)
The Devils offense continues to be putrid but Palmieri is one of the few bright spots. He’s been apart of 32% of NJs goals and he’s skating on the top line and PP unit. Detroit has had some goaltending issues lately and the Devils have scored 3 and 4 goals in their prior games against Detroit this season. It’s a decent matchup for the Devils and I believe that NJ will score at least 3 goals there’s a good chance Palmieri will be a part of at least one of those.
