NHL Cash Core, December 4th
Jamie Benn – LW – 10.4k
I said yesterday I wouldn’t use Benn in cash games, and here I am using him in cash games (I’m a liar). I wanted to use Seguin to start but then decided that with two great value plays I can spend up to play Benn. 14 points in the L10 games, including eight goals. That’s production. He has a positive match up as well and although the price is high, if you’re using my value plays tonight he’s affordable.
Patrice Bergeron – C – 7.4k
Which team has given up the most goals in the league? The answer is Calgary. Bergeron has 23 points in 23 games and 11 in his L10. As I said, I was going to just lock in Seguin at center but because Patrice is facing Calgary he’s a great play here at 7.4k. He plays on the top line and top PP Unit and gets 20 min/gm.
Leon Draisaitl – C – 3.8k
Leon has cooled off after a sensational start but he’s still such a great play for the price. He’s a solid talent and although he only has one point in his last 6 games, he had 17 points in the prior 10. That pace wasn’t sustainable but my point is he’s more than capabale of producing and Dallas, despite playing great hockey, still give up its fair share of goals.
Lee Stempniak – RW – 3.3k
I had a Devil in the core yesterday, so why not again today? Lee has seen a boost in minutes recently and has seven points in his L10 games. He has a solid match up and minutes for only being 3.3k. He’s on the top line and plays the point on the top PP Unit. I’ll risk taking him on a low scoring team due to price.
