Marc Gasol 7.5k
Gasol is a minute milker (39mpg over L5) and can fill up the stat sheet with points, rebounds, and even assists. It’s an average match up but surprisingly enough, Memphis is averaging a high number of possession per game this season (102) so there will be plenty of chances for Gasol to put up FPs. He’s gone 30+ FP in four of his L5 games, including two games in the 40’s. Gasol is a very safe cash game play tonight with his consistent play and high floor.
Paul George 9.2
The Pacers will be missing Hill at PG tonight and even more of the scoring than usual could go through PG (although Ellis will pick up some slack as well). George has been on fire this season averaging 40 FP/Gm while playing close to 40 minutes per game as well. His usage is 30%, which may increase slightly tonight and he’s in a match up against the Bulls who give up 6% more points to SFs than the league average. For the price, he’s extremely safe to rack up points and not put up a dud.
James Harden 10.2k
I’m going to be rostering more Harden than Westbrook tonight (gulp), but mainly for the savings. I expect Russ to score around 50-55 FP but I think Harden can and will match that output – and for 1.2k less. The Rockets are projected to score 105 points tonight and Harden’s usage of 33% will allow him to potentially have a BIG night. The Celtics are playing a faster pace of basketball this season and possessions will be up. Harden will have more than enough chances to rack up points in this match up, playing close to 40 minutes/game.
Chase Budinger 3.6k
Playing Chase is a must for me if he indeed does start tonight. With Stuckey and Hill being out tonight it is a possibility that Budinger will get the start at SG. Last season when he was getting time he was putting up a solid FP/min and at 3.6k on FD if Chase can get 25 minutes it’s not too much to ask for 20 FP. With the price of Westbrook and Harden, his salary would be a great relief tonight.
