Daily Fantasy NHL Picks, November 16th
GPP Line Stack Targets and below that is my cash core.
New York Islanders – Okposo/Tavares/Nelson
This line has produced 37 points in the 18 Islander games and they are facing an Arizona team that, per this slate, has let in the most goals over the last 12 games (tied with WPG). The Islanders produce a lot of shots which could turn into goals against they Coyotes. I like this top line’s offensive power of Tavares/Okposo and Nelson has done well contributing with the two all-stars.
St. Louis Blues – Steen/Lehtera/Tarasenko
Quite frankly, this is just one of, if not the, best line in hockey (Ok, Benn/Seguin/Sharp is #1). Like the Coyotes, the Jets have given up the most goals recently on this slate and the Blues are not a team you want to face when you aren’t playing well defensively. This top line has produced 40 points this season and that’s with their PP ranking near the bottom of the NHL at 15%. They were 4th last season and once they start clicking on the PP, watch out. Both teams have been playing good possession hockey but I think the Blues have more talent to take care of business and take advantage of the shaky goaltending of the Jets (L3 Games goals agaisnt – 7, 5, 3, 3).
Detroit Red Wings –
Neither team is playing that great at the moment, but Detroit has been trending better whereas the Senators have been getting worse, especially in the Corsi category. This play is more of a fade of Ottawa than it is wanting to take Detroit. Dylan Larkin is having a sensational rookie season but overall the Red Wings offense has slowed since the early stages of the season. A majority of the scoring however is done by this top unit and they are worth rolling out on this six game slate. Blashill has changed the lines up a bit recently with Datsyuk returning to the lineup so be sure to check before game time to make sure this unit is still together.
Edit – Like I was afraid of, Blashill has jumbled up the lines so I’ve changed my target line to the second line of Tatar/Larkin/Datsyuk
W – V. Tarasenko (8.2k)
W – B. Gallagher (5.7k)
C – D. Larkin (4.3k)
D – C. Parayko (5.3k)
