Daily Fantasy NHL, November 7th
A beautiful 11 game slate, with two early games that I will be ignoring. Not a lot of time today so I’ll skip the banter and jump into it.
You don’t need to overthink this one. Get a piece of Ovechkin/Kuznetsov/Oshie and even Backstrom/Carlson if you want to save. Toronto is still giving up goals despite their improved play. Toronto is also coming off an OT game against Detroit and I think the Caps are in a great spot to score four goals tonight. The Maple Leafs give up a fair amount of scoring chances and the Capitals are burying pucks this season. This is the chalk play today and if you’re only playing a couple of lineups, you need some Capitals.
I love Winnipeg’s top line and they have an advantageous match up today against the Flyers. Philly is just all sorts of bad right now. They are playing poor possession hockey resulting in a ton of chances given up and Winnipeg has the 3rd most goals scored this season for tonight’s slate. Now, I will be playing the top line of Ladd/Little/Wheeler but their second line is just as good of a play. Ehlers/Sheifele/Perrault are playing extremely well and are also find the back of the net (they are also much cheaper as a whole). If you’re making multiple lineups, try to get a piece of both!
I’m rolling with Pitt here as a fade against Calgary more than an endorsement of Pitt. The Penguins offense is still struggling along but in this match up I feel confident rolling out Perron/Malkin/Kessel. I still think that is the best line for them at the moment and Calgary is just giving up goals left and right. The top line isn’t a bad option either, but the Malkin line is producing more chances top to bottom and Malkin/Kessel are on the top PP Unit with Crosby so you could still catch some benefits of his game.
Non GPP Cash Core
Nikolaj Ehlers – at 4k and a + matchup, Ehlers will be a lock in my cash LUs
Evgeni Malkin – Another + matchup, and Malkin is an underpriced super star due to Pitt’s offensive struggles
Nicklas Backstrom – I’m not 100% sold on Ovi for cash due to price, but I do love Backstrom at the price
Phil Kessel – I have no issue pairing him with Malkin today. If you don’t want to do this pair, you could do Ovi/Kuz instead
