Daily Fantasy Hockey, November 4th
Can’t lie, it’s been a little cold on the GPP end the last couple of days, but that’s why we play some cash as well to help keep the bankroll during the slow times. Dallas did very well (as usual) yesterday but Philly crapped the bed, the Flames second line produced, and Howard played great for Detroit shutting down the lightning.
Anyway, we’re back to a four game slate and I think it’s obvious that Pittsburgh and Winnipeg will be the top choices, but I’ll be going with Chicago as my third. You have to be a little different to win GPPs and I don’t think the Hawks will be owned that highly considering the match up.
I think Pitt has one of the better match ups of the night so I will have exposure to them, but mainly the top line of Dupuis/Crosby/Horqvist. I had been targeting their second line but the top line is beginning to click a bit and I’m hoping they are a hair lower owned than Malkin’s line. Vancouver is a fade worthy team so far despite their record due to their lack of possession. Hopefully the Penguins can capitalize on this and burry four goals on Miller (I suspect he will start).
The Jets top line of Ladd/Little/Wheeler is one of my favorite in the NHL. So full of talent and all three players can burry the puck. Now, they get to face the Leafs who are giving up just over three goals/game. The Leafs are playing better as a team but it’s not totally clicking and their goal tending is still a major issue. If you’re looking for a value player, Nikolaj Ehlers is a great play as he still incredibly under priced.
As I mentioned above, on the smaller slates you want to find some lower owned players/stacked. Chicago won’t be the lowest owned (that will most likely be Toronto) but I don’t think they’ll be highly owned either. Patrick Kane is match up proof and I’ll be targeting him along with Teravainen and Anisimov. Although, be sure to check the lines before game time because if Hossa is back from injury, Panarin will replace Teravainen on the second line.
I don’t play nearly as much cash on small slates but below will be the core set of players I would be building around.
W – Blake Wheeler
W – Nikolaj Ehlers
C – Sydney Crosby
W – Artemi Panarin
