Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks, October 29th
1. Tampa Bay Lightning
Tampa isn’t quite the scoring machine it was last season but they have one tasty match up tonight against Colorado. The Avalanche are the worst team in the NHL right now and it could be a long night for whoever starts between the pipes. I’ll be targeting mainly the top line of Callahan/Stamkos/Drouin but I’ll also try to get some shares of Hedman and Stralman on the blueline. They both see a lot of ice time and set up plenty of scoring chances, and Hedman actually leads the team in points.
2. Dallas Stars
Benn and Seguin are the top options here and really don’t need much of an explanation. Dallas is facing a Vancouver team that has played poor possession hockey so far this season leading to ample opportunities for their opponents; this could spell disaster against a high powered Dallas offense. Currently, it’s unknown who will center Seguin/Benn but as long as you can fit those two into a lineup you’ll be set. You could pair them with Klingberg on defense; they play together on the first PP unit.
3. Montreal Canadiens
Although Montreal hasn’t been a great possession team early (you could stack Oilers tonight to be contrarian) I’ll be taking them against an even worse possession team, the Oilers. Fading Edmonton isn’t anything new, the only difference is that they do have better goaltending this season. They are a young team with a lot of offensive firepower but they still lack some defensive awareness. The Canadiens finally lost a game but their top line is rolling and I think that continues tonight in Edmonton. 30 combined points for Gallagher/Plekanec/Pacioretty in 10 games, I’ll take some of that production tonight.
Cash Core – a mix of expensive and value. Save $$ where you can and fit the superstars in your lineup tonight
W – Jamie Benn
W – Jonathan Drouin
W – Artemi Panarin
W – Max Pacioretty
Marc Andre-Fleury, Dallas starter, Halak (Not Starting), Price (super expensive) — a lot of potential good options tonight
