PGA DFS Picks, Shriners Hospitals for Children Open

20PGA DFS Picks, Shriners Open

I had an ok week last week which I’d like to improve on.  I broke even because my main GPP lineup finished well despite Bowditch missing the cut and Steele choking away a victory in the final round.  My other lineup did not cash due to two players missing the cut.  Overall I was satisfied with my core-3 and value choices last week but Bowditch not even making the cut did sting.  This week it would be nice to see all four get through.  Click here to read last week’s article.

This Week’s Stats

1. Rickie Fowler ($12,200)

I’m not going out on a limb with this one but Ricky is my favorite golfer in the field this week.  He’s the best golfer in the field so I will have him in lineups.  His price will make it difficult to have any other top tier players on your roster but there is value to be found this week.  Although he struggled hitting GIR last season he was 14th in BoB% and he has four top 10 finishes in his last seven events.  He’s played well here in the past and he’s the Vegas favorite as well.  If I’m spending top dollar, Rickie will be the main target.

2. Will Wilcox ($8200)

I had Will in my write up last week and he did not disappoint, finishing T10 at -11.  He comes into this week with great stats again – 4th in GIR, 3rd in P4s, 17th in BoB%, and 20th in Prox.  He is criminally underpriced compared to the rest of the field and a must play.  He’s +225 for a top 20 finish and like last week I think he can push for the victory.

3. Hudson Swafford ($7400)

If you’re going to be spending up for Rickie or Koepka you’ll need some cheap players; Swafford should be one of those golfers. He finished T17th, -10 last week and like Wilcox this course is set up nicely for him. He’s top 50 in all key stats including 14th in Prox and and 23rd in BoB%.  He has the ability to score low and make birdies and that is key when you’re dipping into the low salary golfers. He’s +333 for a top 20 finish and that’s what I’m expecting from him.

4. Pat Perez ($6,600)

At only 6.6k, Patty P is my value play and steal of the tournament.  Yes, he’s missed two straight cuts but before that he had made nine of ten, including multiple top 20 finishes.  He was excellent in the key stats last year – 48th in GIR, 10th in P4s, 18th in Bob%, and 52nd in Prox.  At 6.6k all you really want is for him to make the cut and he’ll exceed his value. I wouldn’t be surprised by another top 25 finish from Perez this week.
