NFL Week 3 Picks Against The Spread – 5 Best Bets
Last Week’s Record: 2-3,
Season Record: 5-5
Last week was ugly, despite a few of my teams keeping it close, they scores weren’t what they appeared. Again, I’m forcing myself to take five picks every week, so sometimes it’s difficult to find those final 2 or 3, but I’m trying to mimic the Las Vegas Super Contest.
Week 3 Picks
Cowboys: Yes, Romo will be missing, as well as . I still think Dallas is a better overall team than Atlanta and these injuries have forced Dallas to be a dog at home. Weeden is not a great QB but he has some starting experience so he won’t be rattled. They should rely on their run game and great OLine. Romo is not worth seven points and I believe the Cowboys would be -5/6 with him. I’ll take the points.
Raiders: I’m not sold on the Browns. They are going back to McCown this week even though Manziel lead them to a victory last week. I think Oakland has the offensive weapons to hang with Cleveland and win this game. Carr has looked better and better the more he’s played and they found a playmaker in Latavius Murray. I have this lined at a PK.
Bengals: I’m back on Cincy, getting points at Baltimore. This line scares me a bit and maybe Vegas sees something I don’t. I know they’re on the road but I think Cincy is a better team so I’ll gladly take the points. The Raiders picked apart the Ravens secondary and I expect Dalton to do the same with AJ Green.
Dolphins: The Dolphins could be the first team to slow up Tyrod Taylor. I’ve been impressed with Taylor, but can he really continue to tear it up at this pace? The Dolphins defense should give him fits as it will easily be the best he’s faced yet. The Pats tore the Bills up through the air and I expect Landry and Tannehill to combine a lot. I’ll take the Dolphins as a small favorite at home.
Cardinals: This is quite a big favorite for me to play but it’s more of a fade of the 49ers. The Cardinals have been a really good team for three straight seasons now but people seem to forget it. I have no faith in the 49ers offense to score this week which leads me to believe that if the Cardinals can get to 24 points they will cover – and I think they will get to 30. I’ll lay the TD.
